Nando has completed his transfer move to join Angkor Tiger in Cambodia’s top tier for the second half of the Metfone Cambodian League season as he aims to pursue his football career in Asia.
Angkor Tiger are having a great season as they occupy the third place in the league table with six points behind league leaders Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, who ended the first round of the season unbeaten.
Nando, whose full name is Fernando Cozar Torres, is ready to do everything he can to help the Siem Reap side achieve big thing this season as they are also one of the favourites to clinch the league title this season.
The Spaniard, who has already joined three training sessions with Angkor Tiger, is likely to make his first debut this Saturday when Oriol Mohedano’s side welcome seventh-placed Ministry of National Defense at the Siem Reap Stadium.
The 28-year-old told TheMorning: “I feel very good after I signed a deal with Angkor Tiger, and the feeling in the team with other players is very nice. The reason is very easy as I just want to come to Asia, and another reason is that the things I heard about Angkor Tiger, and their situation is now very good too.
“Well, in football it is not easy. I have seen very good things from the players in these 3 trainings that I have been with them. I need to get used to the weather, and I need to work hard because it won’t be easy.
“My main target is to help the team and always help, and after that we have to think game by game, but we want to fight in the league. We need to work hard. This is football, so we never know what will happen.
“I don’t like to speak about myself, but I am the midfielder who likes to organize the game, and I will try to help the team in corner and free-kick. I will give my all for the team.”
