Hun Sen Cup quarter finals – first leg results

Several teams have put one foot into the semi-finals of the Hun Sen Cup following a superb win in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, with the return leg played on Wednesday next week.

One goal from each half secured Nagaworld a huge 2-0 win over Boeung Ket, while Boeung Ket fielded several youngsters. Run Rany opened the scoring to give Nagaworld the lead in the injury time of the first half before Sary Matnorotin doubled Nagaworld’s lead in the eighty-fourth minute.

Chey Chetra extended G.C National Police’s lead to 2-0 just ten minutes into the second half before bagging his second goal in the stoppage time to earn Coach Sareth Sidon’s side an impressive 3-0 win.

Phnom Penh Crown put host Angkor Tiger to the sword with a superb 3-0 win at the Siem Reap Stadium. The visitors put on an outstanding first half performance to take a three-goal lead into the break thanks to Brak Thiva’s brace and In Sodavid’s early goal.

The two-time Hun Sen Cup winners led 2-0 inside five minutes of the play through Cambodia U22 attacking midfielder In Sodavid’s second-minute opener before Brak Thiva made it 2-0 in the fifth minute. Brak Thiva struck late before the half-time break to earn Coach Luke Sainsbury’s side an astonishing 3-0 victory.

Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng secured an important away victory following a hard-earned 2-1 win over Ministry of National Defense at the Army Stadium. Hoy Phallin gave the visitors the lead in the twenty-seventh minute, with the 23-year-old kicking the ball into the net after receiving a cross from Prak Monyudom.

Five minutes later, Sok Heang equalized for Ministry of National Defense from the penalty spot. Coach Phea Sopheaktra’s side were rewarded a penalty after Sok Samnang committed a handball inside his penalty box, and midfielder Sok Heang finished it nicely from the spot kick to make it 1-1.

Sareth Krya bagged the second-half winner for Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, with the center-back heading home from the corner kick to earn the Svay Rieng-based club a tough 2-1 win.
